A mayor close to Jorge Macri was scathing about Horacio Rodríguez Larreta: "It's a scam for the people of Buenos Aires."

Soledad Martínez , mayor of Vicente López and close to Jorge Macri, came out to strongly criticize Horacio Rodríguez Larreta . She said the former mayor of the city is "a scam for the voters of Buenos Aires" and demanded that he show "much more dignity."
Martínez, who succeeded Jorge Macri as mayor when he took over as Buenos Aires' government minister in 2021, is angry because, she claims, Larreta is playing "with the confusion" that he is still part of the PRO (Pro), when in reality he is competing against the yellow party with his brand-new platform, Volvamos Buenos Aires (Let's Return to Buenos Aires).
"Horacio Rodríguez Larreta is no longer in the PRO. Our candidate is Silvia Lospennato, and Larreta's statements are a scam for the people of Buenos Aires . He's playing on the confusion about whether or not he's in the PRO to see if he can get more votes," Martínez stated about the strategy of the now opposition leader, who proposes "recovering" the old days of the PRO in the City.
They also took aim at the former mayor of Buenos Aires for his frequent criticism of Jorge Macri's administration in the city, reflecting the "stench of urine" and the "conurbation" of the district. They also accused Larreta of trying to take votes away from the PRO party and for saying that he brought him from the Conurbation to the city.
Jorge Macri and Soledad Martínez, after winning the 2019 elections.
"Among all the mistakes and nonsense Larreta says, one is believing that he brought Jorge Macri to the City. Jorge Macri was voted for by almost 50 percent of the people of Buenos Aires; the same people who didn't vote for him and made him lose the internal election in his district against Patricia Bullrich. The people of Buenos Aires made a decision in 2023: they elected Jorge Macri as Head of Government and not Larreta as President ," said the mayor of Vicente López.
Regarding the electoral strategy, he stated: "Larreta should have much more dignity and say that he is against the PRO, that his candidacy is damaging to the PRO, and hopefully, in the elections, the people of Buenos Aires will once again show him that he is not with him."
Old times. Horacio Rodríguez Larreta and Diego Santilli, with Soledad Martínez in Vicente López.
He also addressed the electoral strategy in the Province of Buenos Aires, where Mauricio Macri now sees an agreement with La Libertad Avanza as distant , and the latter, for its part, is excited about the move of leaders from the yellow party to the violet party.
"There's no Buenos Aires resident asking me what the alliance will be. The problems in the Province are whether you can safely leave your house and not be killed by your cell phone, whether you can get care in a public hospital, whether the schools support and teach the children or not, whether you can make ends meet," said Martínez, who in that regard chose another target: Governor Axel Kicillof.
In that sense, he concluded: "The suburbs are increasingly dangerous, and concerns remain. Kicillof is providing no answers on any of the issues of security, education, health, or public works. The government of the Province of Buenos Aires is absent."
